It has been a cold winter in Qatar. Yes, believe it or not, but temperature drops to as low as 10-15 degrees Celcius. Add the freezing wind from northwest and the cold just gets all through to yout bones. However I like to wear a winterjacket and breath cold and fresh (well, how fresh can it be in the desert, but you know what I mean) air.
Cycling is still my passion and I did participate in the national championship last Friday. The course was in Al Thakira, in the northern part of the country. A flat course (surprise 😁) and I guess also quite fast because I almost could average 40km/h. That is quite good for a veteran like my, who just rides occasionally. This race I also used to get ready for Doha triathlon this coming Friday. I will do the Olympic distance. For me it means closer to 2,5 hours of racing. This is long, as I hardly ever ride more than 1,5-2hours. I just need to rely on my muscle memory. Will keep you posted on how much I had to suffer.
