Stage 4, St Vigil – Falcade

20120627-165438.jpgAnother super nice day on the bike! The start was neutralized today for the first 5km. We were descending the first part, so I was happy it was neutralized. We continued the valley up towards Alta Badia and Corvara. Carsten went up in the front and I stick to his wheel. It was a hard pace up the false flat and I really had to dig deep to hold his wheel. Anyway, it was better to ride hard than have a lot of hectic in a big bunch. It was also more like a real bike race riding fast during the first part. I liked that.
As soon as we hit the climb up to Grödnerjoch we slowed down. Spinning up the first climb of the day and making some photos (Carsten did). Next climb was Passo Sella and on top of that climb we were sitting in a big group. Fine, they could take us to the finish. There was still Passo Fedaia to climb up and one last climb up to Falcade. There I wanted to do some real racing and had planned to attack the group and Carsten 🙂  I did and got a pretty big gap to the bunch. I was riding up the climb full blast and my powermeter showed some really good numbers. So I was satisfied with the day today. Nice ride and a hard training session done.
