The season has been long. My last race of the season was Chrono des Nations in France. We flew from Basel to Nantes on Friday afternoon. On Saturday I rode the TT course three times. I did not feel good. My legs were tired, they were aching. That has been a feeling I have had often the last ten days. One day I felt good, the next days really tired. When the season is long I think it is normal. The body is just tired and does not recover so fast and well anymore.
I was hoping to have a good day on the race day. One night of good sleep would hopefully do wonders. I woke up, felt recovered and surprisingly good. I had breakfast and went for a short spin to wake up my body. My start was later in the afternoon.
A good warm up before the start and I knew I could ride a good race. I had power in my legs. Now it was just about being able to suffer for half an hour. I suffered and crossed the finish line completely exhausted. I was in second place and still 5 riders to come. I finished 5th. A good result.
Now I am hapy that the season is over. I need some time to reload my batteries.
Grattis Pia! Jag är så jätteglad för din skull att det gick vägen! Lycka till med OS-projektet!
