A lot of people at the start in Wolfach. Another day of sunshine and a great stage ahead of us. I know this area very well. Sconach and Furtwangen are very well known places when it comes to wintersports like cross country skiing and ski jumping. I do train both summer and winter in this area. I had also many fans on the course today. It was fun hearing people screaming my name.
The start was fast once again. I wanted to take it easy today. I felt a bit tired this morning.
I found a good group again and was just sitting in there for the first 50km until Furtwangen. From there we rode a valley down towards Donaueschingen. Here we were only 4 riders in total in my group. I think 2 riders flated in one of the downhill and the rest we lost on the climb.
So I had to go in the front and work a bit as we rode down this never ending valley. It is so hard to ride flat parts. I just don’t have the power as the guys have. I gave my best though and I think they were happy with my job in the front.
Still 2 days to go and we arrive on Feldberg. My favourite place wintertime.
